Pieter Engels (tenor and soprano sax)

After lessons from Karel Bruyn, Sean Bergin and Paul van Duyn he played in countless pop latin and funk bands (Blue Six, Racho da Bano, String driven thing, Greyhound, etc.) and bigbands (Blow up Bigband, Amstel bigband) In 1992 Pieter won the Music Maker price 1992, being the best hornplayer at the Grote Prijs van Nederland. From 1988 till 1991he was a member of the Knotsgekke AVRO's Wordt Vervolgd Orkest (Frits' Madband) After that he played tenorsax till 1995 in the Wil Salden's Glenn Miller Orchestra. Presently he plays the leadalto in the 'Jan Molenaar Bigband', and all saxes with Lils Mackintosh and the Swing Cats and Monica Akihary and Band.

Erik van der Weijden (altosax)

An adventurous start in freeform jazz, with some marvelous ideas as soundscapes, play by hearing or patterncontrolled improvisation, lead Erik van der Weijden(alto-, and tenorsaxophone) into a more conventional area where, besides an enormous amount of beautiful music, also a lot of nice people appear to be willig to ride the stream of finding new ways in music. A small three decennia later, the initial powers keep on driving Erik to the outward bouderies of music universe, always in contact with a broad traditional foundation. And always with a lot of caring for the intensions and potentials of the music.

Paul van Duyn (tenorsax)

Studied with Rob Hauser, Sandy Moss, Paul Stocker and finished his study at the Sweelinck Conservatorium with Tim Armacost. He toured all over Europe for 12 jaar years as an altosaxophonist in the The Glenn Miller Orchestra. He also covered most seas accompanying internalional artists during cruises on the M.S. Europa and The Enterprise Orchestra. Back on shore he mostly operates as a free lancer. He played, among other bands, in the Maiden Voyage Big Band, Orkest Ronny Buhre, The Bridge Big Band, P.B. and the Night Train, José Marcello Orkest, Zeppos Big Band, The Coda Horns, Jump'n Jive, P-Alley Band, The Hangover Horns, Hit-It and Bernard Berkhout's Swing Orchestra.

Leon van Mil (baritonesax)

started playing the piano at the age of 10 . After that he studied tenorsax. At the Sweelinck Conservatorium he switched to the baritonesax. Among his teachers were Tim Armacost, Greg Marvin and Jim Hartog. After his study Leon played in bands like De Boventoon, Billy Brooks Rainbow Peace Orchestra, Tetzepi, the Nightflight big band, Orquesta Bembe, Rutger Molenkamp XXL and the Amsterdam Groove Collectors and he conducted the Biggles Big Band for more than 12 years. Apart from playing in The Beaugard Quartet, Captain Heartbeat and Belly goes Bonkers he conducts the Hint Big Band. You can hear him playing any of the saxes as a free lancer.
